Housing Initiative
Creating safe and stable homes so veterans and their families can thrive.
Providing a foundation for a new future through transitional and respite housing.
What It Is
The Housing Initiative delivers transitional and respite accommodation that helps veterans stabilise their lives after service. We acquire and refurbish properties so that ex-forces members and families have a dignified place to live while they plan their next chapter.
Working alongside local authorities, housing associations and support partners, we combine safe homes with wraparound guidance, financial planning and wellbeing services.
Transitional Homes
Renovated community properties provide immediate stability for veterans experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity, with on-site support to guide the transition to permanent accommodation.
Respite Stays
Peaceful retreat locations offer serving personnel, veterans and their loved ones restorative breaks, time together and access to wellbeing activities that rebuild resilience.
Why It Matters
A secure home is the starting point for recovery, family stability and long-term opportunity. Without it, veterans are left navigating complex systems alone.
Stops the Slide Into Crisis
Safe accommodation interrupts the cycle of homelessness, poverty and isolation many veterans face when leaving the armed forces.
Unlocks New Opportunities
With housing worries removed, veterans can focus on employment, education and wellbeing programmes that open up lasting prospects.
Builds a Supportive Community
Shared spaces and peer networks foster belonging, giving families the confidence and relationships they need to thrive together.
Launching the Housing Initiative
We’re preparing the first phase of homes and partnerships so veterans have a clear path into stable housing from day one.
What We’re Working On
Finalising property shortlists, surveying priority sites and aligning refurbishment plans with support partners.
Pilot Goals
Deliver a small cluster of move-in-ready homes that prove the model, capture insights and shape the longer-term rollout.
Upcoming Milestones
Secure refurbishment funding, confirm build schedules with contractors and open applications for veteran families.
How Supporters Can Help
Offer professional expertise, pledge materials or seed donations, and champion the initiative within your networks.
How You Can Help: Get Involved
This initiative is community-driven, and we welcome your support to make it a reality.
- Partner with Us: Housing associations, construction firms, local authorities and social investors can align capital or in-kind expertise with our build schedule so we can accelerate the next refurbishments.
- Property Partners: Offer vacant rentals, holiday lets or leasehold properties for medium-term stays, allowing veterans to stabilise while permanent housing is secured.
- Donate: Financial contributions expand the properties already under stewardship and keep materials, furnishings and wraparound services in place for every household.
