Recruitment Engagement Programme
From interest to enlistment, we guide potential recruits every step.
Support applicants with resources and motivation through the AI-powered Smart Support Hub.
What It Is
A recent workshop with programme staff mapped the full applicant journey. Awareness, Application Preparation, Assessments, and Onboarding. We aim to provide resources so every stage receives tailored support through the Smart Support Hub.
The result we be a coordinated service plan that pairs digital tools with human touchpoints. Mentorship, practice assessments, and motivational check-ins will be scheduled against the moments where they make the biggest impact, ensuring recruits never feel alone in the process.
Stage 1: Awareness
Inspire interest and answer early questions so prospects feel seen before they begin an application.
- Community briefings and content that demystify military life.
- Follow-up information and FAQs delivered through the Smart Support Hub.
Stage 2: Application Preparation
Remove paperwork barriers with one-to-one support and easy-to-follow guidance.
- Mentorship calls pairing applicants with trained volunteers to review forms together.
- Document checklists and timelines tailored to individual circumstances.
Stage 3: Assessments
Build confidence with structured preparation for fitness and aptitude tests.
- Practice assessments offered in the Smart Support Hub with instant feedback.
- Debriefs to normalise nerves and share tips from recent applicants.
Live now through the Smart Support Hub for registered applicants.
Stage 4: Onboarding
Keep momentum strong between offer and first day with personalised encouragement.
- Motivational check-ins every fortnight from staff and volunteer peers.
- First-week briefings covering kit, travel, and family communication plans.
As each asset goes live, this grid will update with download links so applicants and partner organisations can access the right support instantly.
Why It Matters
MOD Freedom of Information returns show that 200 recruits left the Army Foundation College within six weeks in 2020/21, falling to 102 in 2022/23, underscoring how vulnerable the early stages of the pipeline remain.1.
By the Numbers
We are targeting a further 30% reduction in early dropouts (to fewer than 70 leavers a year by 2026) and working with King’s Trust International to lift partner progression to at least 80%. Quarterly reporting from the MOD Recruiting & Initial Training Command, combined with shared partner dashboards, will track attrition trends, flag at-risk cohorts and evidence impact for funders.
